Amazing summer basil pesto is a staple in my house for at least three months of the year. With my Clark Farm CSA basil I’m making the best pesto ever!


Units Scale
  • 2 heaping cups of basil leaves
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup olive oil (plus more for topping)
  • 1/3 cup parmesan shaker cheese
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts


  1. Add all ingredients to your food processor. The only thing requiring an extra step is to cut and juice your lemon. Otherwise, everything goes right in the food processer and you should blend until well combined. Take a test. If you need additional salt you can add it to your liking. 

NOTE: You may not need an entire lemon to get 1 ½ tablespoons of juice – depends on size and juiciness of the lemon.
