Description

French toast is a simple pleasure in life and the easiest thing in the world to make for breakfast or dinner!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • butter (optional topping)
  • maple syrup, to taste

Instructions

  1. Beat milk and eggs in a bowl until well blended.
  2. Transfer egg mixture to a pie plate so it’s easier to dip the bread.
  3. Add vanilla extract and cinnamon to eggs and whisk together.
  4. Heat oil in a pan on low to medium heat.
  5. Soak bread thoroughly in the egg mixture and transfer to hot oil. I like to make sure the oil is crackling with a finger-lick test with a bit of the egg. I love crispy French toast!
  6. Cook the French toast about 3 minutes on each side or until crispy.
  7. Top with butter and maple syrup.
  8. Serve immediately.
