Description

When you think you can't fit any more turkey on this sandwich - add a little more. It ain't called a monster turkey gobbler sandwich for nothing.

Ingredients

  • Turkey
  • Stuffing
  • Cranberry Sauce (canned is fine)
  • Razor thin sliced onion
  • Alfalfa sprouts
  • Awesome local bread (focaccia rolls & ciabatta work well)

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion very, very thin. I used a mandolin, but if you don't have that just use a good knife and slice the onions as thin as possible. Put on a plate.
  2. I love using alfalfa sprouts so I put some of those on the plate with the onions to be ready to assemble.
  3. Toast your rolls. Using high quality bread is so important and pushes the flavors over the top! Try to use local bakery bread like ciabatta or foccacia rolls.
  4. Add as much turkey as you want to the bottom of the roll. Even when you think it's too much turkey - add more. See my video for assembly.
  5. Grab a blob of stuffing and shape it into a circular patty to fit the shape of the roll. Then place on top of turkey.
  6. Add your razor thin onions on top of the stuffing layer.
  7. Next, add the alfalfa sprouts on top of the onions.
  8. Carefully spoon the cranberry sauce over the sprouts.
  9. Add the top to the sandwich and with a good sharp knife (serrated if you have), cut the sandwich in half. Enjoy!!
