If you love international cooking as much as I do, I've got five Asian recipes you will love. I've traveled and lived in Asia many times over the years, and it's definitely one of my favorite international cuisines. And I think for many of us, certain Asian recipes just rise to the top. So I wanted to share my favorites with you! So here are the five Asian recipes you should know how to make.
Spicy Garlic Chili Noodles
This is one of my favorite recipes on my whole website (!!). I know that’s quite a statement, but I mean.every.word.of.it. I love making a big batch like this so I can eat it as leftovers for days. As written, it has a tiny kick, but not overwhelming at all. If you want mouth-on-fire you can do that too. 🙂
Totally Awesome Chicken Lo Mein
Say good-bye to take-out lo mein, because once you make this you, will always make this. Learning how to prepare lo mein noodles is a fantastic introduction to Asian cooking. The noodles, the umami, veggies and chicken are delicious and comforting. Add what you want, take away what you don’t. Just the chicken, noodles and sauce is to.die.for.
Crispy Thai Pork Toast
I ate Thai pork toast a lot when I was in Thailand, like, an embarrassing amount. It’s a delicious, slightly indulgent, fried appetizer (or meal!). Cheap, sliced white bread for the toast part, and an easy ground pork mixture for the topper. Dip the pork in egg and fry it for a few minutes. It’s so easy it’s ridiculous.
Fried Rice w/Chinese Sausage
This version came straight from an old co-worker’s mom who came to visit from China a couple of times a year. She’d make a big batch and bring it to the office for us to share. It’s the moment I fell in love with fried rice. I hope I did her recipe justice! Thanks Lynn’s mom!
Easy Chicken PAd See EW (Stir-Fried Thai Noodles)
This is my favorite Thai noodle dish and familiar to anyone who loves eating Thai food. I’ve visited Thailand quite a few times and I swear there are no two Pad See Ew’s alike. Lusciously soft and silky rice noodles, chicken, egg and an umami sauce that caramelizes on the noodle when you cook them. This is the secret flavor: slightly charred noodles.
